I grew up in northeast Arkansas and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1962 and Lincoln Memorial University in 1966. My father was a lifetime teacher and principal in elementary, middle school and high school principal in Arkansas, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Virginia and Florida. I have a sister who lives in Michigan and brother who is a policeman in Oak Ridge.
Upon graduation from college I taught school in Eau Gallie, Florida where I was head of the mathematics department. In 1969, I moved back to Oak Ridge and worked for 32 years at Union Carbide and Lockheed Martin as a statistician and computer consultant. While in Oak Ridge I was involved in many high visibility projects both at Y-12 and K-25.
Upon retirement from Lockheed Martin, I took the job as Director of Technology for the TSSAA. The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association is the governing body for high school sports in the state of Tennessee and has a membership of 750 Tennessee schools.
I have been married for 29 years to life-long Kingston resident Joyce Reagan. Joyce is the Grants Coordinator for Roane County, working with County Executive Mike Farmer. Joyce and I have one daughter, Sara, who is a teacher at Cherokee Middle School and is married to the county Juvenile Officer, Marty Miles.
We live in Cedar Greens Subdivision, off Ridge Trail Road in the city of Kingston. We are members of the United Methodist Church in Kingston.
My outside interests are the education system of Roane County, high school sports, and family. As one of my hobbies, I do computer ratings of high school football teams. The ratings are heavily used by media across the state and generally are recognized as the best in the state.
